‘” Mujawarah for People” Team Receives Safeguarding Training in Preparation for the Opening of the Community Space

Bozour Theatre for Culture and Arts Association conducted a training session for the team of the “Mujawarah for People” space in Deir Al-Balah, as part of preparations ahead of the space’s opening and its engagement with community members.

The training was delivered as part of the “Mujawarah for People” initiative, which aims to strengthen community participation through theatre, arts, and safe spaces, within the framework of the Gaza Stabilization Response Project, implemented by the United Nations Development Programme / Programme of Assistance to the Palestinian People (UNDP/PAPP) in cooperation with the Bozour Theatre for Culture and Arts Association.

The training was led by Said Abu Ghazza, Gaza Programmes Manager at Mujawarah for Life and Development, and focused on strengthening the team’s understanding of safeguarding and safe conduct policies, as well as promoting respect for people’s dignity, privacy, and personal boundaries.

The session included a range of practical exercises designed to help the team apply safeguarding and safe conduct principles in their daily work. These covered responsible communication with community members, respecting privacy and personal boundaries, responsible approaches to photography and storytelling, and promoting safety within the space and across its activities.

The training forms part of the preparations for the opening of “Mujawarah for People,” contributing to the establishment of a space grounded in respect, responsibility, and safe community engagement.

وجاء التدريب ضمن مبادرة “مجاورة للناس” لتعزيز المشاركة المجتمعية من خلال المسرح والفنون والمساحات الآمنة، في إطار مشروع الاستجابة لتعزيز الاستقرار في غزة، الذي ينفذه برنامج الأمم المتحدة الإنمائي/برنامج مساعدة الشعب الفلسطيني (UNDP/PAPP) بالتعاون مع جمعية مسرح بذور للثقافة والفنون.

وقاد التدريب سعيد أبو غزة، مدير برامج غزة في مؤسسة مجاورة للحياة والتنمية، وركز على تعزيز فهم الفريق لسياسات الحماية والسلوك الآمن (Safeguarding)، واحترام كرامة الآخرين وخصوصيتهم وحدودهم، وتضمن التدريب مجموعة من التمارين العملية التي ساعدت الفريق على تطبيق سياسات الحماية والسلوك الآمن في الممارسات اليومية، بما يشمل التواصل المسؤول مع أفراد المجتمع، واحترام الخصوصية والحدود، والتعامل المسؤول مع التصوير والسرد، وتعزيز السلامة داخل المساحة وأنشطتها
